TRAFFIC CONCERNS AT 144th ST. AND EAGLE RUN DR.
It has been brought to our attention that several cars have been running the red turning arrow at 144th Street (southbound lanes) when turning onto Eagle Run Drive during morning drop off. This often causes cars to be stuck in line to get onto Eagle Run drive while simultaneously blocking cars from continuing north on 144th Street when they have the green light.
Please drive safely, follow the traffic laws, and be courteous to other motorists on the road so that we can all reach our destinations safely each morning. Below is a general map to show where this traffic jam is taking place. If this continues to take place, please reach out to administration with any additional information or concerns you may have regarding this issue.
Thank you!

TeamMates Mentoring Program at SVdP
We are excited to announce that we are partnering with TeamMates Mentoring at St. Vincent de Paul School. TeamMates Mentoring was founded by Dr. Tom and Nancy Osborne in 1991. The mission is to positively impact the world by inspiring students to reach their full potential through mentoring. TeamMates Mentoring is a school-based mentoring program that matches students with an adult mentor based on shared interests or experiences. TeamMates Mentoring operates in 6 states now and is the largest school-based mentoring program in the nation.
The goal is to focus on the strengths. TeamMates is for every child. Not because something is wrong — but because every child deserves an extra caring adult who believes in them. These mentors also go through a background check and are safe environment trained. TeamMates mentoring focuses on building confidence, connection, and strengths in students of all backgrounds, personalities, and academic levels. Mentoring is about helping students discover who they are, what they’re good at, and what’s possible. Research and experience show that even 30–45 minutes a week with a caring adult can positively shape a child’s confidence and self-belief.
TeamMates Mentoring is currently operating in other Catholic schools here in Omaha and their process is simple. If you feel your child would benefit from a mentor, then you or their teacher can nominate them. However, the child must want to have a mentor to be in the program. The meetings take place once a week, in school, typically over lunch. Once the child is matched with their mentor, the goal is the mentor is with them through high school and post-secondary. Additionally, there are scholarship opportunities as well. TeamMates Mentoring is an investment in your child's future.
TeamMates Mentoring is always looking for mentors to join their team. If you are interested in learning more or becoming a mentor, sign up at TeamMates.org.
Please contact Dr. Marchese or Mrs. Skudlarek if you would like your child to participate and have a mentor. Thank you!

All incoming Kindergarten and Grade 7 students (current 6th grade students) are required to have a physical exam completed before the fall of 2026 school year. Exams must be between March 1, 2026 and August 1, 2026. As soon as the physical exam is completed, the paperwork can be turned in at school. There is a form on the website that may be used. Included on the form are immunization dates, a full physical exam, vision screening, hearing screening, and health history. Your child’s physician does not need to use our form, but he/she will need to include all of the same information. Vision screening is required for students entering Kindergarten. It is not technically required for students entering the 7th grade. However, if you ask for it to be completed during the visit, it will save your student some class time in the fall during school health screenings. Students’ physical exam forms and up-to-date immunization list must be turned in by August 1, 2026. Students will not be able to start school until these forms are turned in. Please see the link below for Nebraska immunization requirements and the health exam form. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.

Spring 2026 SVDP Soccer Registration
Registration for CYSL Soccer (kindergarten through 8th grade) will end on Sunday, 2/15/26. Registration for Micro Soccer will end on Sunday, 3/15/26.
Sports Connect, the platform that was previously used for soccer registrations, was recently acquired by Playmetrics. As a result, we will be transitioning to using Playmetrics this spring. When registering, parents will need to create new profiles for each child that is being registered or will need to "add" them to our organization if you have previously used Playmetrics with an outside organization. Additional information regarding the Playmetrics app for team communication will be sent to parents following registration and team formation.
Please email Tara Sands at svdpsoccerclub@gmail.com with any questions regarding CYSL registration, and Courtney McGuire at svdpmicro@gmail.com with any questions regarding Micro Soccer.
