Great Teaching: Kelly Jensen, Brenda Volk

UW-Whitewater’s Great Teaching series highlights faculty and staff members on campus who are passionate about teaching students for the benefit of their academic and future success. Kelly Jensen is an assistant professor of communication on the Rock County campus, and Brenda Volk is the head coach of Warhawk softball.

Friday-Saturday: Wheelchair basketball tournament

The UW-Whitewater men’s wheelchair basketball team welcomes the top teams from around the nation this weekend for its annual home tournament this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21-22, at the Williams Center. The Warhawks host games Friday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m. and noon.

UW-Whitewater students perform "Scrooge's Christmas: A Christmas Carol" 

A total of 29 Warhawks are part of the university's production of "Scrooge's Christmas: A Christmas Carol," which made its debut last week and continues with four more performances this week at Barnett Theatre inside the Greenhill Center of the Arts.

Men’s soccer enjoys strong 2025 season

The UW-Whitewater men’s soccer team won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, played in the NCAA Tournament, and earned six all-conference accolades.

Vick and Anderson will present “Bridging Career Trajectory Perspectives” at the conference’s Leadership Network Symposium. This Friday, Nov. 21, is the last day to submit a priority room request for the spring 2026 semester. Requests are open to all student organizations and departments recognized by UW-Whitewater. Requests will not be processed until Monday, Nov. 24, and priority is on a first-come, first-served basis. UC spaces will be placed based on the best use of space and resources, with preference to student events first. UC Reservations »

Warhawk Success Conference 2026

Save the date and submit a presentation proposal for the 2026 Warhawk Success Conference on Feb. 27, 2026, at the University Center. Registration will open in January. Units interested in presenting on how they impact student success during the UW-Whitewater journey are encouraged to submit proposals to present at the conference by Monday, Dec. 1. PRSSA members engage in professional development 

Student members of the UW-Whitewater Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) traveled to Washington, D.C., to network with PR professionals and students from across the country and to hear from professionals representing a number of different sectors. Communication majors Olivia Gross of Milwaukee, Kacey McMillan of Lannon, and marketing major Ikhlas Mohamoud of Fitchburg attended the conference.
