As part of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, our company is on a journey to create and foster an inclusive culture that is welcoming to everyone. Earlier this year, we announced the formal establishment of Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) and Affinity Groups.
Today, we’d like to share more about the vision for the Women & Allies Employee Resource Group (ERG) of Vail Resorts. The Women & Allies ERG of Vail Resorts is focused on providing an Experience of a Lifetime for Vail Resorts' women leaders by addressing barriers specific to this population. This group will influence change in processes, policies, and programs to cultivate an inclusive environment and build allyship and advocacy that will help lead to equitable practices for all employees and a better company overall.
This year, the Women & Allies ERG will be focused on three key functional work areas:
- Hiring, Development and Promotion Processes
- Pay and Benefits
- Culture and Community
In order to achieve sustainable change, the Women & Allies ERG is standing up a team to support this important work. A few weeks ago, we opened the application process for the 8 Co-Lead roles and over 130 leaders applied for these positions! Now, we are excited to open applications for Functional Ambassadors. Functional Ambassadors will be assigned to support one of the three key functional work areas above and work closely with the Co-Leads to accomplish our goals.
If you are interested in joining this team, please complete the functional ambassador application by Friday, Dec. 9. Before applying, please review the role criteria below:
Able to dedicate 1-2 hours per week to focus on initiatives and deliverables
- Work well in a team of 10 ambassadors focused on accomplishing our overall goals
- Attend recurring Women & Allies ERG team meetings
- Have manager approval
We are seeking representation across all dimensions of diversity; including, but not limited to, grade levels, gender identities, seasonal/year-round employees, lines of business, and allies of women.
In addition to the above leadership roles, the Women & Allies ERG will be inviting individuals who are interested in participating in this group as a team member in early 2023. Members will support with the engagement and execution of the programming designed by Functional Co-Leads and Ambassadors. If you are interested in participating in this group as a member, be on the lookout for additional details regarding the process to get involved.
We look forward to your involvement in this work. Learn more about the Women & Allies Employee Resource Group.
