More about Morning Shift

We moved into the Inn at Bat Cave on Jan 23 of this year with five days to construct a studio and record an album. Hopes were high, but we didn't really know what to expect. There was a pile of songs to sort through and a short time to do it. So
much about our music has been about staying focused and under control, but what stands out on this recording are the moments where there was no choice but to get outside of yourself and go on instinct.  Hopefully you can hear us hanging over the edge and getting used to the feeling of letting loose.  So, this album feels like a great jumping off point for this version of SCR and a snapshot of a band learning to trust each other.  None of this would have been remotely possible without Darrell Scott (producer) pushing us to be more, and Dave Sinko (engineer) assuring us that it was going really well.  Our hosts, Courtney and Bo, made the week magical...beaver meatballs and bear meat and the ever-present smell of fresh bread baking, reminders that it's a good idea to take a walk in the woods, ping pong and tears of hopefulness and remembrance.  We hope that it all comes through as you listen.
