The CSUDH Student Research Conference provides a professional conference experience to graduate and undergraduate scholars. Students can share their research or creative projects and receive valuable feedback from a supportive community of fellow CSUDH researchers. Please share with your students!

- On October 30, the Academic Technology Committee, the Department of Philosophy, and the Committee on Technology Ethics co-hosted a panel, "Is Artificial Intelligence Dangerous?"

On November 7, Dr. Brian Gregor, Professor of Philosophy, presented a paper, “AI as Revelation? A Technological Crisis for the Religious Imagination” in New York City at the annual conference of the Society for Ricoeur Studies.

On December 12 and 13, the CSUDH Dance Program will participate in the Glendale Community College (GCC) Dance Concert at the GCC Auditorium.

On November 14, in partnership with the SoCal chapter of the American Society for Public Administration, the School of Public Service and Justice hosted a networking event for students and the community. The theme was “Re-imagining Government: The Effective Use of AI in the Public Sector.”

Natural and Behavioral Sciences |

Dr. Ashkan Jalooli, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, and student co-authors, Huzaif Khan, Rahul Kavati, and Sriven Srilakshmi Pulkaram, authored the paper, “End-to-End Privacy-Aware Federated Learning for Wearable Health Devices via Encrypted Aggregation in Programmable Networks,” which has been accepted for publication in Sensors.

Dr. Sahar Hooshmand, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, in collaboration with co-authors Varadraj Gurupur, Sahar Hooshmand, Deepa Fernandes Prabhu, Elizabeth Trader, and Sanket Salvi, authored a paper, “Incompleteness of Electronic Health Records: An Impending Process Problem within Healthcare,” which has been accepted for publication in Healthcare.

On November 18, the campus kicked off the WSCUC Reaffirmation of Accreditation self-study process with over 80 faculty, staff, and students participating. President Parham welcomed participants in a recorded message. Steering Committee Co-chairs, Drs. Michele Dunbar and Marisol Cardenas and Dean Kim Costino outlined the the next steps of the self-study process and timeline, the role of gathering data, narratives, and evidence, and the university's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan, emphasizing their commitment to culturally sustaining practices and equity.
