| HCH2023 Conference Resources Are Now Available in a Searchable Library

In May, we convened hundreds of HCH professionals and people with lived experience of homelessness to share research, best practices, wisdom, and more at #HCH2023. The theme of the 2023 national conference was “Toward Justice: Leading with Lived Expertise.”
Now you can access the presentation materials, videos, and information from many of the conference sessions, as well as watch videos of plenaries, keynotes, and the awards luncheon. Our new searchable resource library makes it easy to filter by topic!

RCPN Coffee Chat: Integrating Program Issues Into Policy & Advocacy

It’s important for program leaders to know how and when to engage with policymakers. This Coffee Chat will present two challenging (but common) scenarios encountered in medical respite programs with the opportunity to engage in discussion about how to address these issues. Please join us on Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. CDT to talk about how we can better integrate our direct care service with the policy changes needed to ensure an equitable, high-quality health care system.

Community Conversation: Homelessness and Immigration

Immigration status is a social determinant of health. Our next Community Conversation on Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. CDT will explore how different communities provide services to immigrant patients experiencing homelessness. Community Conversations are not webinars; they are discussions on issues affecting providers of all types who serve people who are unhoused. Community Conversations are meant to foster mutual support and problem-solving, and attendees are invited to share openly and encourage others, not just listen.

The HCH Helpdesk Blog: HIPPA vs. Subpoena

Health Care for the Homeless administrators are responsible for ensuring their programs comply with HIPAA rules and standards for storage, use, and disclosure of clients’ Protected Health Information. This is the case when it comes to disclosure of PHI for judicial proceedings and for law enforcement purposes. How do you ensure compliance while maintaining high-quality service for patients? We take a look at this question on the HCH Helpdesk blog.
