Change is a part of life. That’s especially true for the automotive industry. No matter how beloved a model is at one point in time, it may cease to exist only a few years later. The Cadillac DeVille fell in between those two extremes before ultimately being discontinued. It was a signature model of the brand for decades until the 2005 model year. It wasn’t killed off, but it was changed into the DTS for 2006. Although those letters may just seem like alphabet soup, they are connected to the past: DTS stands for Deville Touring Sedan. Just like the DeVille model line, our Pick of the Day, a 2006 Cadillac DTS, was changed quite a bit – into a convertible.

If you have not figured it out yet, I love Aston Martins. I have had the pleasure of owning several over the years and, of all the brands I have had in my garage, Astons are the single most special ones to me. I used to always steal a glance at one of the Astons in my garage before going in the house, feeling lucky having a car so special and beautiful. To me, a Ferrari, Porsche, or other higher-end car is nice, but Astons simply deliver something special. My Pick of the Day is the classic Aston that fits me the best, a 1966 Aston Martin DB6.

The Japanese have an odd tax structure when it comes to cars—among the taxes based on consumption spending and net weight, there also is a tax based on engine size. This is the reason why Kei cars are a thing in Japan, and it’s a reason why Mazda exploited the Wankel rotary engine. Our Pick of the Day is a JDM vehicle that offered both rotary and piston engines, and can you guess which one was more popular in its home market? This 1976 Mazda Cosmo is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealership in Christiansburg, Virginia.
