When she heard about her friend's daughter who has been fighting a childhood illness, Ms. Fre created art.
Her friend's daughter is seven years old and receiving care at St. Jude Children's Hospital. She has been there battling a childhood illness for years. In this little girl's difficult story, Ms. Fre took her hope to the art room.
She created the artwork pictured above because "I wanted her to have something beautiful to put on her wall." The pink boxing gloves - "that little girl is a fighter" - are bedazzled and surrounded by the words "Keep On Fighting."
This piece of art acknowledges the strength of her friend and her daughter, adds a piece of love and beauty, and is also filled with encouragement. More than just the words on the front, Ms. Fre invited her friends at Room In The Inn to write notes to the little girl on the back of the canvas before sending it off to St. Jude's.
Community is one of our core values here at Room In The Inn. We are ever grateful for people like Ms. Fre to show us what sharing love in community really means.
