                    Distance Education Spotlight

We are thrilled to announce that at the start of December Mike joined our team as Instructional Designer. When asked about joining DE, Mike said, “I'm so excited to join the Distance Education team at Austin Peay! I'm a veteran, and, long story short, returning to college was one of the most decisive factors that contributed to my healthy transition back to civilian life. That return was made possible by the accessibility of distance/online education. I'm deeply honored to support the same transformative power for other learners at such a community-oriented, military-friendly school. Please let me know how I can serve you and your students!”

                                 Honorlock

1. RE-ENABLE HONORLOCK AFTER COURSE COPY

After a course copy, please enable. In your D2L Course, go to Tools > Honorlock and enable and review settings for each Honorlock exam that was copied then click Enable. Screenshot of Honorlock interface.

2. ALLOW STUDENTS TO FAMILIARIZE THEMSELVES WITH THE HONORLOCK PROCTORING PROCESS

Get your students prepared for Honorlock this Spring! To help them succeed, give them an opportunity to experience the Honorlock proctoring process prior to any graded exams. Here are three effective ways to do this:

Create a Practice Exam: Offering practice exams allows students to become acquainted with the Honorlock platform and its requirements, boosting their confidence and comfort during the online proctoring experience.

Implement a Simulated, Non-Proctored Exam: You can design exams in D2L or utilize a third-party tool like McGraw Hill to simulate the proctoring environment at every step.

HonorPrep Guided Tour: Take advantage of this quick guided tour, which lasts under 7 minutes. It provides a comprehensive overview of the setup and authentication steps necessary for students before they start their quizzes.

To learn more, visit our Honorlock webpage.

                          Turnitin Course Copy

: If you have done a course copy... Please check to see that your Turnitin assignment has been enabled. In your D2L Course, navigate to Assignments. If the course has been copied, you might encounter a notification prompting you to click the 'Re-enable' button, as illustrated below. Screenshot D2L Assignments interface.
