For the second year in a row, The Wall Street Journal has recognized UT Arlington as the No. 1 university in North Texas in its Best Colleges in the U.S. list. The University also ranked No. 3 among public institutions in the state, behind only UT Austin and Texas A&M.

A new criminology and criminal justice course at UTA is letting students apply their forensic skills while working with the Arlington Police Department on reopened homicide cases. The 15 students selected for this unique opportunity have full access to the case files and are combing through them in hopes of shedding light on the cold cases.  

UTA's Computer Science and Engineering Department was named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity by the National Security Agency, a designation that underscores the University’s academic and research leadership in this critical field.
