Dear Postdocs,
The Graduate School and Office of Postdoctoral Affairs have partnered with Dr. Emily Roberts, personal finance educator and founder of Personal Finance for PhDs, to offer a new tax workshop for U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and residents for tax purposes who are not having federal income tax withheld from their paychecks.
The workshop, Quarterly Estimated Tax for Fellowship Recipients, is designed to help U.S. citizen/resident graduate students and postdocs navigate the Estimated Tax Worksheet in IRS Form 1040-ES.
The workshop is available in an asynchronous format with pre-recorded workshop modules and a supplementary spreadsheet. Upon registering, you will receive login information via email that will grant you access to the workshop materials.
You will also have an opportunity to register for a Q&A session with Dr. Roberts, to be held on Wednesday, October 25 at 12:00pm Central Time via Zoom. Once registered for the workshop, you may register for the Q&A session in the Modules section.
Please visit the following page to register. The registration deadline is Monday, October 23, 2023 at 4:30pm Central Time.
