“Alcoholism was very active in my home. I had not found any recovery when a decision was made to move countries because I truly believed that moving would not only bring opportunities for my career, but help my partner find sobriety…”

Participating in Professional Conferences |
Al‑Anon’s participation in professional conferences is crucial for raising awareness among professionals who work with individuals struggling with alcoholism and their loved ones. What a great way for Al‑Anon to share information about who we are, where we are, what we offer, and how we cooperate with professionals!
Earlier this year, Al‑Anon’s World Service Office Staff cooperated with Area and Al‑Anon Information Services Public Outreach Coordinators to exhibit at two national conferences, furthering our outreach to the collegiate recovery community and alcoholism/addiction specialists.

Fully Self-Supporting:
Registering and Renewing AFG Trademarks |
As the Al‑Anon fellowship continues to grow globally, it is more important than ever to protect the name of Al‑Anon and Alateen.
Al‑Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc. (AFG, Inc.), has registered its intellectual property—the names Al‑Anon and Alateen, Al‑Anon and Alateen logos, and copyrighted Conference Approved Literature—for more than 40 years. Working with legal counsel, AFG, Inc., files the necessary applications and renewals with trademark offices in the United States and over 64 countries worldwide, thus ensuring that we follow Tradition Seven and remain fully self-supporting.
