It’s getting chilly outside… but Winterfest will give you all the warm fuzzies with its line-up of events. From an Ali Saltan comedy show to snow globe making, an awkward holiday photo booth, and s'mores, this year's Winterfest is sure to be fire.

Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil

The Turkey Trot 5k is returning to Grand Valley's campus! This year's course includes a start and finish under the iconic blue transformational link. Proceeds benefit the GVSU Run Club, helping support student-athletes and their passion for running. So come trot for a cause!

GVSU’s Sport Management program is hosting Rally with the Rapids, with a special collaboration with the Grand Rapids Gold. Several players and coaches from the Gold will be in attendance to interact with fans, participate in on-court activities, and show their support for Special Olympics Michigan. Join them at the GVSU Fieldhouse for an unforgettable event of sports, entertainment, and community support.

The last few weeks of class can be extra stressful, but you’re in luck! The University Counseling Center and Laker Food Co. are offering a night of crafts, cocoa, and convos in support of mental health during this hectic time. Stop by for free crafts, hot chocolate, tea, and cookies!

Help the Replenish Basic Needs Center!

Giving Tuesday Campus Food Drive: Non-perishable food items and personal care items will be accepted. Monetary donations are also being accepted to the Replenish Student Food Resource Fund. 

Food for Fines: Drop off at least five food items at the Valley or City campus libraries' front desks, and your book fine will be forgiven! The event is happening now until Dec. 2.

Prepare for Finals with Exam Jam!

Don't let finals get you down. Take control of your academics with Exam Jam. There are many study tips, academic support, library resources and other tools to help you with your tests and presentations.

There are also great study break event opportunities! In December, join AOD in their Exam Jam Carnival to play games and eat free snacks. Also, the University Counseling Center is partnering with West Michigan Therapy Dogs to bring in some pups to provide support through comfort for students.

It’s time for a break, Lakers! Dining dollars will still be active, but meal swipes will be deactivated as dining facilities are closed from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25 to 11 a.m. on Sunday Nov. 30.
