Mark your calendars for a great day on Saturday, October 7, 2023 when we present another series of topics in "Hangar Talk" and fly the Museum's North American F-86F "Sabre" jet.

We're working on several topics for this month's "Hangar Talk" which we know will be fun and engaging. And you won't want to miss your chance to see the powerful (and loud) Korean War-era jet, the North American F-86F "Sabre" jet start up right in front of you and then take to the skies over the Museum for its twenty-minute flight.

We'll have Food Trucks on site, the B-17 will be open, and our Museum Guides are ready to teach and entertain. Hope to see you at the Museum on October 7th!

Planes of Fame is proud to present "AirFest 2023" at the Santa Maria Airport on Saturday, October 14th, and Sunday, October 15th. This promises to be one of the best Air Show events of the year with a full line-up of military aircraft, outstanding aerobatic acts, and a large assortment of the Planes of Fame collection of flying warbirds.

Just a few hours drive north from Chino, the Central Coast region of California provides a beautiful setting for this fantastic show. The spacious Santa Maria Airport provides a backdrop where the powerful Lockheed Martin F-16C "Fighting Falcon" and the Boeing F/A-18F "Super Hornet" can stretch their wings and flex their powerful muscles in aerial demonstrations that you won't want to miss. Plus Planes of Fame will join both aircraft in the moving "Heritage" and "Legacy" Flights.

They'll be plenty of other current military aircraft in the skies including a demo of the USMC's MV-22B "Osprey" tiltrotor and the Air Force's KC-135 "Stratotanker." Plus we've got many more military aircraft on display.

We've got a great line-up of aerobatic acts to thrill and delight everyone. The Ace Maker T-33 Shooting Star, Eric Tucker, Jason Somes, Vicky Benzing, Dennis Sanders, and the Sukhoi West Demo Team will all provide non-stop action.

And of course, no Planes of Fame Air Show would be complete without the roar and thunder of our classic warbirds. You'll enjoy all your favorites including the Lockheed P-38 "Lightning," the Vought F4U-1A "Corsair," several P-51 "Mustangs," the B-25 "Mitchell," the P-40 "Warhawk," our F-86 "Sabre" and MiG-15 will do battle in the skies, plus many, many more.

We've already mentioned that there will be a wide assortment of current military aircraft on static display, but joining them will be the recently restored Lockheed C-121 "Constellation," and the ever-popular DeHavilland DH.98 "Mosquito." Here's your chance to see both of these wonders and more up close.
