| Next adult formation class starts on May 4 |
We are excited to invite you to an adult formation opportunity focused on our new partnership with Head Middle School, located just a mile from downtown Nashville. On May 4, we’ll welcome Jenny Runyon, Project Manager for Operation Andrew, who will share inspiring stories, practical ways to get involved, and the heart behind supporting this vibrant school community. Head Middle has expressed needs ranging from literacy tutors and field trip chaperones to help with student orientation, concessions at sports events, teacher appreciation, and incentive donations.
The series kicks off May 4 with an overview of our church’s vision for this partnership, and continues May 11 and 18 with opportunities to learn, organize, and respond. We'll also hear from parishioner and middle school principal Seth Swihart as well as a STARS Mental Health Counselor and a Restorative Practices staff member to better understand the unique challenges students face at schools like Head. Even if you’re not sure if you want to volunteer with the partnership with Head, please come and learn how we might serve our community with grace and purpose.

| Join us on Thursday, April 24 |
Join us for a powerful Justice Conversation on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., featuring Rev. Alisha Haddock—preacher, strategist, and Executive Director of Neighbor 2 Neighbor. As Co-Pastor of Christian Journey Fellowship Church and a longtime advocate for community transformation, Rev. Haddock brings over 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, housing, and grassroots mobilization. Her work is deeply rooted in a liberating theology that calls people of faith to both comfort the afflicted and confront injustice, inspiring communities to build a more just and beloved world.
In this timely conversation, Rev. Haddock will examine the evolving role of civilian oversight in policing—reflecting on the past, assessing the present, and casting a vision for the road ahead. Drawing from her experience with the Nashville Community Review Board and the continued push for police accountability, she will explore how the legacy of George Floyd’s murder continues to shape our pursuit of public safety, dignity, and justice. This is more than a conversation—it’s a call to remember, reflect, and take action.

God of wind and water, stillness and storm, your Spirit sweeps over the surface of the sea. Give us faith to seek you in times of trouble. Reach out your hand to us when we are sinking so that we may believe and worship you; through Jesus Christ, Sovereign and Savior. |
