This event is open to all UVM Larner College of Medicine faculty, staff, and students at all teaching sites in the University of Vermont Health Network and the Clinical Branch Campus/Nuvance Health in Connecticut. A Zoom option is available upon request.

2026 SNOW SEASON EDUCATION RETREAT: CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

We welcome poster submissions (whether current or recently presented work) for the 2026 Snow Season Education Retreat on Thursday, January 15, and Friday, January 16, 2026. This will be an opportunity for UVM LCOM educators to share ideas and to collaborate across departments. We are particularly interested in work related to the education of professionals across the continuum of learners.
We will consider posters you have presented at previous venues other than Teaching Academy events.

- Research: Studies on topics related to health professions education. All approaches to inquiry (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, systematic review) are welcome.
- Quality Improvement: Examples of CQI approaches applied to health professions education.

The deadline for poster abstract submission is November 3, 2025. The Submission form is available online. Abstract must be no more than 300 words. Please submit your poster abstract proposal to Teaching.Academy@med.uvm.edu.

2025 Essentials of Teaching and Assessment
|
A total of 77 participants gathered for a dynamic day of learning and connection, featuring two plenaries, nine interactive workshops, and a lively panel discussion on the Pearls and Pitfalls of Being a New Teacher. Attendees also explored a Resource Fair showcasing support from Dana Health Sciences Library, the curriculum team, Education Tech, and experts in research and survey design, equipping educators with tools to thrive in their teaching journey.
