This newsletter provides a reminder of resources regarding the annual compensation changes, the retirement of Laurie Mozingo, the announcement of other HR staffing changes, an update regarding the quarter’s performance conversations, and our new applicant tracking system.

Compensation Updates

On July 1, annual staff compensation changes were implemented for all staff. Everyone received at least a 2% raise and we raised the living wage at CC by 10%, among other changes implemented to support internal and external equity. These changes were made in alignment with our compensation philosophy. Details are available on the compensation website.

Thanking Laurie Mozingo

After 10 years of service to CC, Laurie Mozingo will be retiring on August 2. Laurie has worked in so many ways to serve our employees during her time here, so to highlight a few of her impacts is to miss many others. However, some ways she has made a difference include:
  • Helping people with employee issues, especially in difficult times
  • Supporting our people during the pandemic and the significant hiring that followed
  • Taking on the role of Interim Director during significant transitions in HR
  • Enacting many changes to enhance staff compensation and employee benefits, including working with Pam Butler to create an updated compensation structure
Please join us in thanking Laurie for her service to our community.

Welcoming Cameron Martin
As Laurie departs, we are making some structure changes in HR. We are excited to announce that Cameron Martin has joined our team as the new Director of Total Rewards. He is leading our compensation and benefits practices, and our HR information systems, as we continue our work toward offering equitable and attractive pay, benefits, and other incentives that make CC a great place to work.
Cameron is a passionate and experienced total rewards professional who cares deeply about ensuring equity in rewards decisions. In his free time, Cameron enjoys reading, hiking with his family, and playing with his two dogs. Cameron just welcomed his first child in June of 2023.
Other Staffing Updates
In our next newsletter, we'll be introducing our new Director of Employee Relations and Support, Debi O'Connor.
We are also in the process of hiring  the Associate Vice President of Workplace Culture, who will be a backfill for Ginger Jurecka-Blake, and provide leadership for our Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, and Employee Development.

Feedback Practices

July’s Performance Conversation is underway! All benefits-eligible staff and their supervisors who regularly work during July are expected to participate. Helpful resources, including training and FAQs, can be found on the Feedback Practices Website. Sara San Souci has office hours available to meet with anyone who has questions or would like additional support completing the steps of the process.
If you have not already taken the time to complete your Self-Review, Manager Review, or have your Performance Conversation, please be sure to do so prior to the deadline of Friday, August 9.

New Applicant Tracking System – PageUp

Human Resources is thrilled to announce that CC will be adopting a new applicant tracking system over the summer. This new software will improve the talent acquisition process for hiring teams by consolidating search resources into a single platform. It will also provide a better experience for applicants.
The new platform, PageUp, was unanimously selected by a cross-functional team composed of members from the Dean of the Faculty, Student Employment, ITS, and HR. Implementation work is already underway, and it is anticipated to go live later this summer.
