Accommodations at The Kettledrum House were nothing short of luxurious.  The Chatham Bars Inn team welcomed us home with a delightful amenity of local chips, cookies, and beer, which helped us in stocking the full kitchen.  Our group of four had plenty of space to relax throughout four bedrooms, spacious living room with gas fireplace, and sunroom.  For those that don't know, I'm a sucker for a great bathroom, and thankfully I had four and half to choose from!  Not to mention, the ensuite bathrooms come with my favorite Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer... did I say luxury yet???

A CIVILIZED CELEBRATION


Indulgence was the theme of the weekend and it was filled with feasts from breakfast to dinner.  A huge highlight was the Pig & Whiskey Dinner at The Farm featuring a menu fresh from their 8-acre farm and Whistle Pig whiskey (Ray's favorite).  Talk about locally sourced!
We watched a live piano performance in the lounge with other resort guests, enjoyed a delicious birthday dinner at Stars, and had a gentle flow yoga session in the morning while Ray played 9 holes at the local seaside links course.  Ray and I carved out some relaxation time at The Spa, treating ourselves to an aroma journey couples massage. 
No trip to Chatham Bars Inn is complete without a stroll through town.  We shopped for Christmas presents at the boutiques and enjoyed hanging out with the locals at The Squire.

MAK(e) IT A COMBO WITH THE NEWBURY BOSTON


Before jetting off back home from BOS, Ray and I couldn't resist a quick visit to another J.MAK favorite - The Newbury Boston.  I had been dying to see this newly restored gem in the heart of Back Bay.  Lunch at the renowned Contessa restaurant was the perfect finale to our indulgent weekend.  The Newbury's location makes it an ideal addition to any New England itinerary.
