Student Senate Elections: Vote and Make a Change

Voting deadline: March 24, 5 p.m.

Student Senate Elections have already begun, but you still have time to vote. There are multiple positions on the ballot, so make your voice heard! Make sure to get involved in this election, because Student Senate works to make changes on campus that directly impact you, Lakers. Voting will be open until March 24 at 5 p.m.

It’s Trivia Time!

Tonight, March 20 | 7 - 9 p.m. | Kirkhof Center Lounge

Do you like to get tricked by trivia? Or are you a knowledgeable natural? Kirkhof Trivia Nights are here every Thursday night to challenge your fun fact memorization skills. Winners will take home a Laker Food Co. gift card and, as a special treat for showing up, everyone in attendance will receive a Lobby Shop coupon! Bring your friends for a fun evening of tricky trivia and prizes.

Rescheduled: MLK Keynote Speaker LaTosha Brown

Wednesday, March 26 | 10 a.m. | Haas Performing Arts Center, Louis Armstrong Theatre

Thanks to January’s snow storms, LaTosha Brown’s keynote presentation from MLK Jr. Commemoration Week has officially been rescheduled for next week. Brown is the co-founder of Black Voters Matter, the Black Voters Matter Fund, and the Black Voters Matter Capacity Building Institute. Don’t miss out on hearing this amazing speaker!

Celebration: Today, March 20 | 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Join the Day of Giving celebration today at three campus locations (Kirkhof Center Lobby, Siedman Center Lobby, and Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences)! There will be fun activities, free treats, and prizes available at each one. 

Day of Giving helps fund resources that aid students on their path to graduation. This year, those who give $30 or more will receive a pair of exclusive GVSU socks. Also new this year, play a few rounds of Louie Kart and win money for a fund of your choice!

The Girls of Color Summit Made an Impact

“Nearly 300 middle and high school students from 20 schools kicked off Women’s History Month events at Grand Valley at the seventh annual Girls of Color Summit February 28. 

The summit, hosted by the Gayle R. Davis Center for Women and Gender Equity, brought sixth-12th graders together for a day of education and hands-on workshops. The theme for the summit was “To go through it, you’ve got to grow through it.”...”
