Special Parade of Planets Telescope Night

We will open our doors and domes so you may gaze at the parade of planets through our telescopes on Jan 24. The format is "open house" so you may arrive and depart any time during your time slot. Suggested for ages 8 and up. If this event is clouded out, we will set up ticketing for a Jan 31 viewing.

Orion Holds a Number of Surprises

Orion is one of the most recognizable constellations of the winter sky. It also comes with a bevy of objects of all types, some of which are easily visible with a small telescope, while others are fun targets for the budding astrophotographer.

Learn to Use Your New Telescope

Attend the January Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society meeting on Jan 15 at 7pm and bring your telescope! Did you get a new scope as a gift or have one in the closet that needs adjustment? Society members will set it up and help you get started. They will also have similar scopes to look at if you don't want to physically bring your own. Meetings are free and open to the public.

This event is expected to be at Dyer Observatory, but road conditions may change the meeting location or date. Visit the Dyer website or email us for the latest info before heading up!
