FEATURED STORY

Half Day Fridays Begin May 16

UCO will close at noon on Fridays, beginning Friday, May 16, and continuing through Friday, Aug. 1. This change in operations allows staff to enjoy half a day off on Fridays throughout the summer. There is no requirement to use pre-existing accrued leave, nor to make up the time with longer shifts Monday through Thursday.

Hourly full-time and part-time staff who are regularly scheduled to work on Friday afternoons should request time off via Paycom Employee Self-Service at employee.uco.edu and select the “PTO” option as the type of leave. A request must be made for each Friday, and supervisors must approve each request. These requests will not be deducted from an employee’s pre-existing accrued leave. Detailed instructions can be found on The Hub.

Salaried staff do not need to request this leave in Paycom.

Staff who cannot be away from work on Friday afternoon may work with their supervisor to take the PTO on a different date as possible. Note that this special PTO will only be available in the system through Aug. 1 and does not carry over.

Student employees are not eligible for paid leave.
