Dear Colleagues,
As we prepare for winter recess, I wanted to make you aware of some important facility announcements on our campuses:
Planned Uptown Campus Power Outage:
To accommodate electrical system upgrades, a power outage is scheduled for the north end of the uptown campus on Thursday, Dec. 22 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Buildings between Claiborne Avenue and Freret Street will be without power for one hour. Facilities from Freret Street to St. Charles Avenue will not be affected. Please take any necessary precautions before you leave the office on Wednesday evening.
Winter Recess Building Closures:
As in the past two years, we will keep all HVAC systems running this year to allow for consistent air circulation in our buildings. Additionally, we ask that you turn off lights in your office and common areas such as conference rooms, bathrooms, and kitchenettes prior to leaving for break. We also ask that you turn off all personal computer equipment and electronics and unplug all energy-consuming appliances and devices.
During university closures, all uptown buildings are locked down and Splash Card access is given only to essential personnel. If you think you may need something from your office or workspace over winter recess, please retrieve it prior to the university closing at the end of the day on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Downtown building managers will communicate directly with those working in downtown campus buildings regarding closures.
Happy Holidays!
Patrick Norton
Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
