So much has happened over the past week that it almost makes your head spin. We've secured 4 more crucial and important endorsements as Election Day approaches. Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, L.A. County Supervisor Holly Mitchell, Assemblyman Rick Chavez Zbur and School Board Member Dr. Rocio Rivas. The UTLA candidate Kahllid Al-Alim is under fire for antisemitic sentiment on his social media post and references to guns and porn. This after the Teachers Union has dropped $650,000 on his campaign. The L.A. Times has reported he is employed as a janitor for the city of Los Angeles. That's a lot of money for a non-educator. Charter school backers have dropped nearly $300,000 in support of Didi Watts, a charter school supporter who just moved into the District right before filing to run.
I stand against hate, I stand against privitizing public education, and I stand against discrimination in any form that would deny any of our students access to a high quality education. That's why we have to keep Kahllid Al-Alim off the school board and away from our children.
With just days to go, we have a critical need for additional fundraising help. Can you chip in today by visiting our website www.sherlett.com and clicking the DONATE button?
