We hope you are finding ways to stay warm during these chilly days! With midterms just around the corner, encourage your students to take advantage of all the Academic Achievement Center resources or find a study spot around campus that works best for them.
While academics are important, so is overall well-being. We are continually expanding resources and programming to help students prioritize self-care. A big thank you to the 2,800+ students who participated in our Healthy Minds survey, helping us reach our target response rate. Their feedback is invaluable, and there will be more opportunities for your students to engage in this important work soon.
Take care, support one another, and keep encouraging your students—they’ve got this!

A Green Dot is a behavior, choice or action that promotes safety for everyone. It communicates intolerance for harmful situations on our campus and that everyone can play a part in keeping our community safe. Green Dots are simple actions students can take in their everyday life. The heart of the Green Dot Bystander Intervention program are the 3 D's:
Direct: Step in and address the situation or check in on the person experiencing the harm.
Distract: Create a diversion to interrupt the situation by asking someone for directions or asking if they dropped a dollar.
Delegate: Recruit others to help with the situation like another student, a friend, a faculty member or coworker.
If your student is interested in Green Dot, they can request further training opportunities.

Learn how the Survivor Advocacy Program can support our students |
Ohio University’s Survivor Advocacy Program’s (SAP) mission is to provide confidential support, trauma-focused counseling, and advocacy services to student survivors of sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating/domestic violence and stalking. They provide services regardless of when or where an incident occurred, and students can always choose if they want to report the incident to law enforcement or University Equity and Civil Rights Compliance. Students can always start a conversation with an advocate and decide what next steps are best for them.

Students can take the survey by using the link they will receive in their OHIO email. This link will direct them to an important Ohio Department of Higher Education survey about student safety and well-being on our campus. This survey is completely anonymous. Their experiences matter deeply to us, and by sharing their thoughts, they are helping to create a safer and more supportive environment for everyone in our community. There are also various resources available for students who are seeking support.

BobcaThon isn’t just an event—it’s a movement. Each year, the community comes together to dance, fundraise, and rally in support of families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio. While their children receive critical medical care, we help provide them with a home-away-from-home. Join us to create hope, healing, and happiness—one step, one donation, and one dance at a time.
