Hello! Another year has come and gone...isn't it crazy how fast time flies?!
We hope you and your family are having a wonderful holiday season, and we wish you a wonderful, safe, and healthy New Year!
We would LOVE for you to become part of OUR family at Fairwinds River's Edge, where you can AGE IN PLACE with so many services and amenities right at your fingertips! Please let us know if you'd like to learn more about how aging in place helps residents stay independent longer!
We know change is hard and time is precious! We have lots of resources that can help along the way! Real Estate Agents, Financial Advisors, Veterans Benefits Connections, Movers, Assistance with Furniture Layouts, and access to other Charitable Resources, and even up to complete liquidation help if needed. We're here! Please let us know how we can help!
Thanks and Happy New Year! - Stacy, Cindi, and Ann

Operation Food Search at Fairwinds River's Edge |
|
|
Each year, Fairwinds partners with St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCCAD) and Operation Food Search (OFS) on their annual Holiday Food Drive. Our collection for 2025 was six heaping blue barrels of food, thanks to the generosity of residents, staff, and community partners including Merle Schneider Real Estate. Collections such as these help stock shelves at Food Pantries, ensuring those in need in the Greater St. Charles community have access to food!
Will Beshore, OFS Volunteer and Food Drive Manager, stated that they have been fortunate to be able to add to the donations they usually send out (with the increase in donations collected by SCCAD and senior communities), because they see the number they serve keep increasing.
We thank ALL the folks who contributed to this great cause!

JANUARY HEALTH NUT OF THE MONTH |
|
|
Our Health Nut of the Month for January is Mariann McEvoy. She uses the NuStep regularly and attends many classes. On most Thursdays, she attends Drumstick Aerobics, Chair Exercise, and then she still comes to Yoga! If you see her, please congratulate her.

As we go into the new year, a lot of us are thinking about ways to improve ourselves. Big or small, any positive change will have an impact on your health. One of the things you might want to consider is joining a Fitness Class. There are many free classes at Fairwinds, ones that are provided at no additional cost to residents, and there are also extra classes you can be a part of for a nominal fee.
Our paid program is called PrimeFit. It is only $35 per month and gets residents TWO extra group classes and unlimited chair Yoga. If you are not interested in Yoga, no problem...it is still an amazing deal even if residents only come to half of the PrimeFit offerings.
At Fairwinds, there is also Personal Training available for $25 per half hour session / $40 per hour - for working one-on-one with focus on land exercise or exercising in the pool...or, if you need personal consultation. Personal Training with Malena allows residents to set their own schedule with her, and the best location - whether that is in the Fitness Center or in the resident's apartment.
Also, with Personal Training, Malena can help with diet and sleep patterns.
|
|
Malena is a Lifestyle and Weight Management Specialist, Sleep Coach, and Massage Therapist, in addition to being a Personal Fitness Trainer.
Malena is happy to customize Training Sessions to incorporate various modalities needed by each individual resident.
Note: Meditation and separate Massage Therapy offerings are also available at Fairwinds.

| LOOKING AHEAD: February Fitness Frenzy at Fairwinds |
Every February, Fairwinds River's Edge partners with The OneEighty Foundation and Leisure Care to raise funds for a local charity, voted on and decided by our residents. We spend the month raising money and getting our bodies moving. We host a lot of fun events, with the focus being on Fitness (of course) and Philanthropy!
In addition to our typical activities, we include community challenges, group workouts, and wellness workshops...all designed to encourage participation/teamwork. This collaboration not only promotes physical well-being, but also enriches the sense of community and connection among our residents, making it a truly rewarding experience.
We look forward to yet another successful year of Getting Fit for Philanthropy!
