Women Helped Send Teen Moms to Camp! A group of local women in Austin, TX gathered for a giving circle and their impact changed lives for eternity. At all of our giving circles, women hear about compelling options of how their collective gift can make a difference in the lives of kids. The women at this event each cast their vote, and together they chose to cover the cost of the bus for their local YoungLives club to go to camp this summer at Clearwater Cove. 11 teen moms, 11 babies, and six volunteer leaders loaded the bus for the "week of their lives" when a last minute addition happened. One of the girls had a pregnant friend who jumped on the bus before they left, and ended up meeting Jesus with several others, returning home with faith and a newfound community. NANCY CASEY'S journey with Young Life began when her daughter was in high school and was invited to YL Club in Santa Barbara, CA. A retired public school principal, Nancy knew the value of kids' being known and purposeful investment in their lives. A few years later, she was invited to attend YL's first Global Giving Circle in 2019. Since then, Nancy has attended the Global Giving Circles in 2021 and 2023, she's been part of the Santa Barbara local women's giving circle team, gone on a Women Who Love YL vision trip to Scotland and has joined the YoungLives Global Board in 2023 (YL's ministry to teen moms). This summer she'll be at YL's Lake Champion in New York for her 2nd YoungLives camp experience!
We are so thankful for Nancy and how she offers her experience, voice, resources and wisdom to bless Young Life. When asked what her involvement has meant to her, she said, "Children have always been my passion. Becoming an educator was the vehicle that allowed me to become involved in their lives, and now Young Life /YoungLives is the vehicle God has provided for me to continue . What a pleasure and an honor!”
