Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly evolving. Not long ago, it was only capable of handling mundane tasks for us by learning our likes and dislikes. Now it has invaded creative processes like art and writing. Last December, Time reported on a product design manager from the San Francisco Bay Area who used AI to write and illustrate a short children’s book. Since AI relies on existing content to generate “new” content, it sparked fresh debate on plagiarism and theft of intellectual property.
No matter how common or widespread AI becomes involved in creative functions, its ability to create has limitations. The predominant limitation is AI’s dependence on human influence and interaction.
