Dr. Jeffrey Johnson has been elected as the USA/Canada regional director for the Church of the Nazarene and began serving in the role on May 1, 2026. He served as the superintendent of the South Texas District, a role he had held since 2013.

A lifelong minister and leader in the Church of the Nazarene, Dr. Johnson has served in a variety of pastoral and district roles, including youth pastor, lead pastor, and district superintendent across churches in Tennessee, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Texas. His pastoral assignments have included First Church of the Nazarene in Portland, Council Bluffs, and Houston (now Graceway Church of the Nazarene).

Dr. Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary.

He is known for his relational leadership, passion for missions, and commitment to Christlike discipleship. Dr. Johnson is the son of the late General Superintendent Talmadge Johnson and has been married to his wife, Julie, since 1985. They are blessed with two beautiful married daughters and three amazing grandchildren who bring so much joy and life to their family.

Learn More About Ministry Designs!

The USA/Canada Region so excited about its partnership with Ministry Designs! Through this incredible opportunity, they have graciously made professionally designed church websites available to our pastors for just $25 a month. It has been amazing to watch hundreds of Nazarene churches refresh and transform their online presence, creating welcoming and effective spaces to connect with their communities.

Whether your church is looking for a complete website makeover or simply wanting to strengthen its digital presence, Ministry Designs has been such a valuable resource for our churches.

They also host webinars every Tuesday at 11 AM PT where you can learn more about the partnership, see examples of transformed websites, ask questions, and discover how this resource could benefit your church! We would love for you to join and explore all the possibilities this partnership has to offer.

Ignite the Cause - Registration Is Open

The young adults in your church are in one of the most defining seasons of their lives. The decisions they make in their twenties often shape the trajectory of their calling for decades to come.

Ignite the Cause, January 3-6, 2027, in Oklahoma City, is designed to meet them right there - with Spirit-led worship, missions-focused teaching, and a community of peers asking the same questions they are.

Encourage your 18-28-year-olds to register today. Register Here.

For those ready to go further, short-term missions opportunities are available year-round across the USA/Canada Region and beyond. Check them out at nazarene.org/thecause - real experience, real impact, real calling discovered.

The investment you make in them today could define the Church for a generation!

Nazarene Missions Teams

Missions teams are more than trips or projects; they are opportunities for transformation. When local churches say “yes” to participating in God’s mission, lives are changed both on the field and back home.

Today, somewhere across our region, there is a pastor who needs encouragement, a congregation praying for partnership, or a Compassionate Ministry Center serving faithfully with limited resources. Your church can help remind them that we are part of God’s mission together.

Through missions teams, people grow in faith, compassion, and obedience to God’s call. We encourage every pastor and NMI president to continue creating opportunities for people to pray, give, serve, and go.

Thank you for faithfully leading your churches in missions. The mission belongs to God, and what a privilege it is that he invites us to participate together.

2026 Ministers Compensation Report

The 2026 Ministers Compensation Report is now available on our website.

The report has been revamped for 2026 (using the 2025 APR data) and we hope you like it.  Let us know what you think by emailing us benefits@nazarene.org.

2026 Aspiring Preacher Residency

Seven district licensed pastors from the Oregon Pacific District have completed the Evangelistic Preaching Essentials Pilot Cohort, marking a meaningful milestone in our mission to proclaim the gospel with clarity and invitation.

Throughout the experience, these preachers demonstrated both competence and calling—faithfully opening Scripture and consistently inviting people to take next steps with Jesus Christ. Their willingness to lean in, practice, and receive feedback reflects both humility and holy ambition. The church is deeply blessed by their passion, and we are expectant for the continued fruit of their preaching ministries.

Please join us in celebrating these pastors and praying that their voices will continue to call people toward transformation in Christ.

Watch this space for details as Evangelistic Preaching Essentials launches region-wide this fall.

Create a Culture of Calling

One hundred and forty Sacramento District Nazarenes gathered for the largest ever training in USA Canada to learn how to create a culture of calling in their churches. Thanks to DS Darren Reed and staff for organizing this great event. Sacramento District is on the move, and God is up to something amazing there!

Contact Mona Kunselman at mkunselman@usacanadaregion.org or Mark Bane at mbane@nazarene.org if the churches on your district need more leaders. Either of them will help schedule a dynamic training event to assist your leadership development pipeline.

This training teaches the average lay person how to recognize, equip, and assist undiscovered leaders through the process of leadership development in every area of church leadership.
