Westminster Hills Open Space Public Meeting

Our next Westminster Hills Open Space community meeting will take place Wednesday, March 6 from 6:30-8 p.m. at City Park Recreation Center (10455 Sheridan Blvd.). Please join us to learn about the strategies the City is exploring to protect and preserve this beloved destination for our community. The meeting will be livestreamed and recorded on the City’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

As a reminder, we are in the early stages of this conversation, and no decisions have been made yet. Please find an overview of our current findings here: www.westminsterco.gov/WHOS.

Westminster Sustainability Center Open This Spring

Westminster Sustainability Center Opening This Spring

The City continues working with SustainAbility Recycling to get our new one-stop-drop sustainability center open in time for spring cleaning. When the facility located at 6020 West 91st Avenue opens to residents, you will be able to recycle single-stream items for free, including cardboard, paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass. Some hard-to-recycle items will cost a $4 fee and other recyclables will be priced by the pound/per item.

Celebrate Black History Month with Westminster Public Library

Please join the City of Westminster and Westminster Public Library (WPL) as we recognize Black History Month and celebrate the lives and contributions of African Americans around the world. Librarians with WPL have compiled lists of literary works and films that reflect on the struggles and triumphs throughout Black history.

Westminster Boulevard Drinking Water Project Environmental Assessment

Several updates have been made to the Westminster Boulevard Drinking Water Project and we’ve updated our draft environmental assessment report. Residents can provide comments on the report through February 28.

The Westminster Police Department is now accepting applications for their 2024 Teen Citizens Academy! The Teen Academy offers an exciting week of direct contact with police instructors through lectures, hands-on experience, and demonstrations. Applications are due by May 3. Apply now.
