Prepare Your Application Materials

You are able to view and download portions of the application on the website.

The application is available online here
  • Click the yellow BSN Application button (Traditional or Second-Degree)
  • Login using your GVSU credentials
  • Begin working on Steps 1 and 2 (Step 3 is submitting the application materials)

During the designated application dates, you will be able to upload your documents for submission. Once you start the application, you will not be able to save it, so have all of your required information ready and consider the instructions carefully.

Once you have successfully submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email. If you did not receive an email confirmation, we did not receive your application.

Prerequisite GPA

The prerequisite GPA is your combined grade in the required prerequisite courses. At the time of the application, you will submit the grade you received in each class.

If you took courses at another institution, be prepared to input the correct course information. You do NOT need to submit transcripts within the nursing application. But GVSU must have your official transcripts on file for each class if you took them at another institution.

If you do not have all of the prerequisite courses completed at the time of the application, connect with an Academic Advisor to confirm your projected timeline to apply.

Student Profile

The student profile is available now to download and complete. You will upload your completed student profile as part of your application.

This will allow you to list any experiences, skills, and activities you wish to highlight. Examples are provided on the student profile form.

Follow the instructions on how to save and upload your student profile carefully.

Personal Statement

The personal statement is available now to download and complete. You will upload your completed personal statement as part of your application.

This will provide you an opportunity in a short essay to discuss your experiences, personal motivations, and interests that apply to a career in nursing.

Follow the instructions on how to save and upload your personal statement carefully.

Interview

The interview will take place after submitting your application. The interviews will last 15 minutes, and each applicant will be asked five questions.

You will receive further information regarding how to sign up for an interview once we have reviewed all the applications that were submitted.

More information will be provided in your email confirmation after you submit your application.
