Esak'tima' Center offers space and support for Native students
Sacramento State held a grand opening celebration on March 8 for the University's newest cultural center, the Esak'tima' Center for Native American students.
The center, located inside Lassen Hall, offers services and resources including academic advising, workshops, peer counseling, and leadership opportunities. More than 200 Sac State students identify as American Indian.
“I want people to feel safe here,” said Mickey Nelson, a Native student who is studying Kinesiology. “I hope students take advantage of everything the center has to offer.”
