- Dr. Lealani Acosta was selected to win the AAN Award for Creative Expression of Human Values in Neurology at the AAN Annual Meeting in April 2023 for her essay, "I Wasn't There:Caring for a Patient with Trisomy 21, Alzheimer Disease, and Epilepsy Until His Final Days With COVID-19." Congratulations, Dr. Acosta!
- Dr. Paul Moots was nominated for the 2023 Patient and Family Choice Award! This award honors Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt staff and faculty who act with compassion and excellence to provide an exceptional experience for patients and their families. It is awarded each year by the Family Advisory Council to one who most exhibits the values of the Vanderbilt Patient and Family Promise. Only patients and family members can submit nominations, and someone was so moved by Dr. Moots's performance at work that he was nominated for this award. Way to go, Dr. Moots!

Workday Transition Updates

Important things you need to know about MyWorkday go liveThe MyWorkday project at VUMC involves the implementation of two new cloud-based systems, Workday and Tecsys. MyWorkday and Tecsys will transform VUMC’s business systems. The go-live date for MyWorkday is April 1. Here are a few things you need to know now about this important transformation.
1. Please make sure you have completed your assigned Workday training on LearningExchange. Key tips about the training:
- All employees were assigned Employee as Self training.
- People leaders were assigned Workday Manager training.
- Security role-based training will roll out the week of Feb. 20.
- End users can find their course assignments in the Learning Exchange under 'My Courses.'
2. IT began rolling out desktop icons for Workday and Tecsys in mid-February. They will link to a temporary landing page until go live on April 1. You will be able to access the systems from these links beginning on WorkDay go live day on April 1.

FSA Reimbursement Deadline All flexible spending account participants have until April 15, 2023, to file a claim reimbursement form for their 2022 account. Employees can check their account balance on My VUMC Benefits or by calling 844.489.3745.
WEX Health will continue to administer and manage flexible spending accounts after the WorkDay implementation.

Benefits Update If you experiencd a life event (e.g., marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child) during the MyWorkDay cutover period, you will have an extended enrollment period.
Benefits administration will now be done in Workday — with the exception of flexible spending accounts.

P-card Transaction UpdateAll Pcard transactions for the March cycle (Feb 28 – Mar 27) MUST be reallocated and in Final approved status by March 31 for the Workday implementation.
Please remind all of your cardholders that this must be completed by March 31 and make sure you have final approved.
Beginning April 1, all Pcard transactions will be expensed out in Workday expense. Card charges from March 28 forward will be available in Workday on April 1.
Access online access will be restricted beginning April 1. Therefore, all charges must be completed by March 31.

People Finder to be DiscontinuedWith the implementation of WorkDay on April 1, the People Finder application will be retired. Information available via that application will no longer be updated and may be inaccurate.
Employes can use the WorkDay system to search for contact information for their co-workers.They can also use the directory within the Outlook web application.
Individuals outside of VUMC will no longer be able to look up contact information for VUMC employees.

Calling All Mac UsersVUMC requires all employees to register their VUMC purchased Mac computers with VUMC IT. This does not include Mac devices that were purchased for personal use. Registering the device will ensure that VUMC is able to remain compliant with security requirements around access to our content.
For those who are Mac users, you will be sent separate instructions for how to register your Mac device. This will help improve security on VUMC owned Macs by standardizing configuration and providing software updates and vulnerability fixes.
