- Consider delaying all travel. If absolutely necessary use extreme caution and take a winter storm kit with you.
- Check on elderly, ill, or disabled neighbors, friends, and family.
- Keep pets warm and dry.

Prevent hypothermia by staying warm and dry and limiting time outdoors.
- Have extra water on hand in case pipes freeze or break.
- Avoid walking or driving on ice. Use non-scooping kitty litter or rock salt to improve traction on icy surfaces.
