Join us Tonight for a Westminster City Council Town Hall

Please join Mayor Nancy McNally, Mayor Pro Tem Sarah Nurmela, and the Westminster City Council for a town hall tonight, January 18, 2024 from 6:30-8 p.m. at College Hill Library. The recently seated City Council is excited to meet with our community and hear your suggestions or ideas, as well as answer questions you may have.

Emergency Cold Weather Shelter Protocol

Due to dangerously low temperatures last weekend, the City activated its emergency cold weather shelter for the first time this season and provided critical, life-saving shelter for more than 80 residents. The shelter will activate when it is projected to be zero degrees Fahrenheit or sustained windchill below zero degrees for 6 hours or more.

Westminster Sustainability Center Open This Spring

Westminster Sustainability Center Opening This Spring

The City is partnering with SustainAbility Recycling to open a new, one-stop-drop sustainability center in spring 2024. Located at 6020 West 91st Avenue, the sustainability center will offer residents a cleaner, safer, and more convenient way to recycle batteries, paint, and other hard-to-recycle items.

City Completes Cleanup of Future Open Space Site

The future open space site, located along 92nd Avenue immediately west of Pierce Street, is now clear of debris and fencing. Crews spent several weeks cleaning up the property and removing asbestos. Later this spring, Open Space staff will focus on restoring the land to native vegetation.

Join the Parks, Recreation, and Libraries Department for a community open house on Saturday, January 27 from 1-3 p.m. at City Park Recreation Center. Learn about the City's work to preserve and restore Westminster Hills Open Space.
