The Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. “advancing the dream” four-day celebration, starting Friday, Jan. 12, and continuing through Monday, Jan. 15, will showcase local talent, community service, and the advancement of Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream. UTA adaptive athlete tackles ironman triathlon
|
For wheelchair athlete Tyler Garner, clinical assistant professor of kinesiology at UTA, a recent Ironman Triathlon was a challenge too irresistible to pass up. His experience training and competing will inform future lessons in his sports nutrition class, he said, and he applied some of what he teaches to his own training.

Bree Jimenez, associate professor of special education and program director for UTA's M.Ed. in Special Education, was invited by the Singapore Ministry of Education to provide professional development in schools and to discuss a national syllabus for numeracy instruction for students with disabilities.

The Office of Sustainability is initiating its Climate Action Plan, a significant step toward addressing the pressing issues of climate change and sustainability. Organizers will outline goals, strategies, and collaborative efforts to combat climate change at the UTA Climate Action Plan Kickoff, set for Monday, Jan. 22, 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Rio Grande Ballroom of the University Center. Outstanding Student Leadership Nominations Open

Nominate students for Outstanding Student Leader (OSL) Awards by filling out a nomination form that takes five minutes or less to complete. Nominations are due Monday, Feb. 5. All UTA faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to nominate students who have demonstrated leadership skills and made a lasting impact on the UTA community.
