The Birthday Bash at Brazos Park will be one for the history books. Don't miss celebratory comments from President Jennifer Cowley and free cupcakes to commemorate the 130th anniversary of UTA on Friday, Sept. 5, at 10:30 a.m.


Leave your mark on campus with a time capsule message, browse through historical archives, and connect with fellow Mavericks as we celebrate the past, present, and future of UTA. 

All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend.

Meet Maximus: UTA's new spirit horse joins the corral

Maximus Eventus, UTA’s new spirit horse joins a corral of spirit horses that are a unique part of campus culture.

Why it matters: UTA has long celebrated Maverick pride through its mascots and traditions. Maximus celebrates 130 years of tradition, spirit, and meaningful cultural change.

Quality Enhancement Plan input opportunities

UTA is in the process of completing our SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation. This process occurs once every 10 years and includes the identification of a challenge or opportunity to improve student success. University leadership is seeking student input as part of this process.

 

Students may participate in the following ways:

 

  • Complete the QEP survey by Sept. 12.
  • Join the QEP Committee for a World Café event on Sept. 19 to discuss the process and potential QEP topics. Space is limited, and you may RSVP here.

GTA and GRA Benefits Orientation

This one-hour session hosted by the Office of Talent, Culture and Engagement provides graduate teaching assistants and graduate research assistants with an overview of the various employee benefits programs that the University offers.

Center for Mexican American Studies hosts open house

Swing by the Swift Center Patio anytime today between 12:30-4 p.m. for a come-and-go open house gathering. Connect with the Center for Mexican American Studies, an academic unit at UTA to learn about upcoming programs and community partners and enjoy light refreshments in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Important Dates

  • Sept. 4 — Be part of the legacy and get your official UTA ring at the best price from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the UTA Campus Store. The deadline for ring orders is Oct. 23.
  • Sept. 11 — World Fusion Festival celebrates diverse cultures through a blend of music, art, and dance. It will be a vibrant and inclusive experience.
  • Sept. 12 — Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in a day of service by joining UTA's Association of Mexican American Students at Mission Arlington from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

  • Sept. 13 — Register today for the inaugural HACEMOS 5k run/walk/roll on campus to raise funds for its DFW scholarship program. All Mavs get a $5 discount with the code GOMAVS2025. Three options to support: 5k, virtual race, or donation.
  • Sept. 17 — The UTA All Majors Job & Internship Fair is open to all students and alumni seeking full-time positions, part-time jobs, internships, and field placements. Over 100 employers are expected to attend.
  • Sept. 25 — Buckin’ Bronco Bash is a lively, Texas State Fair–inspired event at UTA, bringing the spirit of the Lone Star State to campus with classic fair games, local food vendors, and line dancing—celebrating Texas pride with fun, food, and unforgettable memories.
