Celebrate the start of the new academic year with MavsMeet Convocation on Monday, Aug. 19, from 3-5 p.m. at College Park Center! This year's guest speaker will be Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas. The event will include spirited performances and an official welcome to the new semester from UTA leadership.

Waffleopolis, a long-standing Maverick Stampede welcome week tradition, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 8-10 p.m. in Brazos Park and the University Center Mall. It will be an evening for new and old friends to meet up for waffles with a variety of toppings. The event will also feature music and dancing.

Global Maverick Welcome will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20, 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Rio Grande Ballroom of the University Center. It will be an opportunity for international students to meet UTA students, student organizations, resource offices, and departments. Arlington Public Libraries and representatives from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Academic Health plans will be available to answer students' questions about their services, the UT SHIP insurance plan, and how to apply for a Texas Driver License and Identification Card.

Updated hours for UTA Libraries
|
UTA Libraries has announced new hours of operation for the Central Library, the West Campus Library, and the Science and Engineering Library. The changes were made to optimize resources and enhance research support. Reallocating resources to peak hours will enable better service to patrons. The Central Library will extend its hours during exam periods to meet students’ needs. View the frequently asked questions page for more information about this update.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is offering additional support for the start of the semester. Until Friday, August 30, the Service Desk will have a pop-up location for students at the Maverick Activities Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is in addition to the support offered at the Central Library.
