Jenise Lum, Ph.D., the Program Coordinator for the Jersey City Medical Center Trauma Recovery Center, will join us for a presentation about the services provided by the center.
If you are a survivor of violent crimes, such as:

Sexual assault, domestic violence, battery, crimes of violence, vehicular assault, and human trafficking
|
If you are a victim of community violence, such as:
|
-
Hate crimes, racism and LGBTQ+ related violence as well as immigration related violence and trauma
|
Or you are a family member of a survivor or victim, the JCMC Trauma Recovery Center can assist you with a variety of trauma-informed, evidenced-based psychotherapy treatments as well as with various other supportive services, including assistance with obtaining safe housing and finding employment.
|
The presentation will take place in the Gilligan Student Building on October 29 from 12-1 p.m.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for A. Harry Moore Laboratory School LIFT Program
|

New Jersey City University and the A. Harry Moore Laboratory School have partnered to launch the A. Harry Moore School Life Independence and Future Transitions (LIFT) program on the ground floor of NJCU's Grossnickle Hall. Please join NJCU, A. Harry Moore School and Jersey City Board of Education leaders on Wednesday, October 30 at 10:30 a.m. for the ceremonial ribbon cutting.
The LIFT program at Grossnickle Hall is a comprehensive initiative designed to empower high school and adult transition students with special needs, aged 15-21, and to ensure those with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) in a special education setting are well-prepared for adulthood. The LIFT program will equip these students with the tools necessary for a successful transition. The goals include facilitating secure employment, encouraging further educational pursuits, promoting independent living skills, and building confidence and competence in daily life.
This event is open to the public. Rain location is NJCU's Gothic Lounge in Hepburn Hall.

Lente Latine/Latin Lens sheds light on recent works by Latin American photographers based on the east coast. Curated by the photographer Natali Bravo-Barbee, the exhibition highlights these artists’ exploration of their ancestral roots, cultural identity, and diasporic communities through varied photographic techniques.
Featured artists are: Manuel Acevedo, Carlos Alejandro, Lizzy Alejandro, Jacqueline Herranz Brooks, Monica Flores, Juan C. Giraldo, Orestes Gonzalez, Cesar Melgar, Qiana Mestrich, Josephina Moran, William Riera, Gabriel Garcia Roman, and Dakota Santiago.

Kimberly Artist is a mitigation specialist and consultant with over two decades in the criminal justice field. Kimberly began her career with the United States Probation Office in 1998, serving as a Senior U.S. Probation Officer and Sentencing Guideline Specialist until retiring in 2022.
