Jin Zhang, PhD, is a professor and vice chair in the Department of Pharmacology, as well as a professor in the Departments of Bioengineering and Chemistry & Biochemistry. Dr. Zhang’s laboratory is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms and functional roles of signaling enzymes such as protein kinases and phosphatases.

SIREN 2025 National Research Meeting
|
COE, the Center for Health Equity, Education, and Research (CHEER), and the Promotores Advisory Board attended the third annual UCSF Social Interventions Research and Evaluation Network (SIREN) conference, “Advancing the Science of Social Care,” February 2–4, 2025 in San Diego. The conference convened social care researchers, practitioners, community members, advocates, and policymakers to understand healthcare sector investments in social care programs and policies. COE participated in a pre-conference workshop to share information and build community alongside three fellow SIREN grantees.

Post-Baccalaureates Join the Jackie Robinson Health Fair
|
Post-baccs Jessica Lang and Karina Garcia Ortiz joined COE liaisons at the first Jackie Robinson Health Fair of 2025 to interact with community partners and organizations to promote breast screenings, HIV testing, COVID and flu vaccination, and county resources. COE liaisons received community feedback and shared resources for residents on cancer prevention and support services.
