It is officially the first day of the State Employee Charitable Campaign at UTA, which runs from today through Oct. 25, 2024. This annual donation drive is an opportunity for us, as Mavericks, to make a difference for so many in our community.
I encourage you to participate this year by donating to one or more of these vetted nonprofits. Consider what you are passionate about and how you want to make a difference. Do you love dogs? There’s a pet rescue for you. Do you want to help those suffering from food insecurity? There are participating charities that fund food banks. Do you have veterans in your family and want to support that community? There are job training programs for veterans that you can donate to. In fact, there are more than 1,000 participating charities that you can support, and over 50 directly serve our community right here in North Texas.
This year's goal is to reach over $20,000 donated by UTA employees, a benchmark I know we can achieve.
