Message From Big Z, Athletic Director

Our hearts are with Evergreen High School and the entire Evergreen community this week as they come together to grieve, process, and try to regain a sense of normalcy. As a neighboring mountain-community, we are proudly #EvergreenStrong and will be here for them in any capacity we can be.

Call to the community:
Battle Mountain is reaching out to the Edwards and entire Vail Valley community in hopes to fill a few positions or needs in the Athletics department. If you are interested in either of these roles or have any questions, please reach out to Zachary Holden (zachary.holden@eagleschools.net).

*We currently have vacancies in the girls basketball coaching staff (head coach, assistant coaches, and volunteers)
*Anyone able to collect gate (selling tickets / confirming student IDs at home games)
*Anyone interested in volunteering in the realm of athletics (games, practices, events, fundraisers, etc)

Youth Exchange Program Applications Open

The annual Vail Edwards Rotary Club Youth Exchange program is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 year to study abroad. This program will run from August 2026 through May 2027 and is a great opportunity to study in a different country, learn a new language and live with host families. PTA News

What is PTA? What do we do at BMHS?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. We are a group of parents, teachers and other community members working together to support BMHS and its students.

At BMHS, PTA undertakes the following projects:
*Financial grants for teachers to cover unmet classroom expenses.
*Provides support and appreciation for our amazing teachers in the form of dinner for parent-teacher conferences, gifts during teacher appreciation week, holiday gifts, etc.
*Provides support for student initiatives as requested.

We only host 1 meeting per semester! We communicate primarily through email. So please watch for our newsletters, the Mountain Memo!

How can you support BMHS PTA?
1. Connect your City Market card to BMHS PTA. This is our largest fundraiser, and costs you nothing, instructions are below.

2. Join the PTA: Your membership helps fund the PTA, and keeps us in good standing with the state-wide PTA organization. Visit BMHS Membership Link

Parents and guardians of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors — we need your help planning Project Graduation 2026!

It's tradition for underclassmen families to “pay it forward” by organizing this unforgettable event, allowing senior parents to focus on graduation celebrations. Our first meeting will be in January.

What is Project Graduation?
Project Graduation is a fun, meaningful, and supervised celebration for Battle Mountain High School seniors held on graduation night. It offers a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment during one of the highest-risk evenings for teens.

For over 20 years, this cherished event has been entirely planned and funded by parent volunteers — and we can't do it without you!
