Happy Holidays from
NJCU President Andrés Acebo

Dear NJCU Family,

As we gather in this holiday season, I find myself reflecting not just on this year, but on everything we have built together. This is a season of light—in our homes, in our hearts, and in the traditions we carry forward. It's also a moment to acknowledge what lies ahead. As we move toward our historic merger with Kean University in 2026, I want you to know this: what we have created here at NJCU—the excellence, the community, the unwavering commitment to our students—is not ending. It is becoming part of something larger, carrying forward the best of who we are.

This university has always been about transformation. Every day, I see it in our students who overcome obstacles and defy expectations. I see it in faculty and staff who pour themselves into this work because they believe in the power of education to change lives. I see it in a community that has weathered every challenge with courage and grace. That spirit doesn't belong to a campus or a name—it belongs to us, to each of you, and it will continue to define our path forward.

So as we celebrate this season with those we love, as we light our candles and share our traditions, let's also celebrate each other. Let's honor the journey we've shared and the legacy we're building. From my family to yours: Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, and a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year.

We are, and always will be, proudly NJCU.
