Hurricane Helpers: Cox Media Group radio and TV stations have raised nearly $1 million, collected food and supplies and provided other aid to victims of the recent hurricanes. Among the efforts, WWKA/Orlando and its sister stations provided mobile charging stations across several Florida counties to help hundreds of people without power recharge their devices.
Red Street artist Ryan Larkins has released an acoustic version of the classic hymn "Blessed Assurance," with plans to donate all proceeds to Mountain Ways, a non-profit helping East Tennesseans and Western Carolinians recover from Hurricane Helene. Listen here.
The Florida Association of Broadcasters has donated $25,000 to the Broadcasters Foundation of America's Hurricanes Helene and Milton Fund.

Digital Watch: The CRS 2025 edition of the Digital Music Summit (DMS) will be spread across the seminar's three days for the first time. Sessions include "Streaming 101: Everything You Want To Know," "Teamwork Makes The Dream Work: Capitalizing on the Country Moment in Streaming," "Why Can’t We Be Friends? The Label, Radio, and Streaming Relationship" and "Sustaining Momentum: How To Turn Moments Into a Career." Bits & Pieces: Girlilla Marketing founder/CEO and CMA Board Pres. Jennie Smythe has landed a publishing deal with Forefront Books for her memoir, Becoming Girlilla, due in 2025. "I've made epic bad decisions as both an employee and a boss," she says. "But, where there was pain and struggle, there’s always been growth and opportunity ... I hope I can save you some hassle. I hope that I can make you think, laugh and see your own story in mine."
An upcoming Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibit explores the more than four decade-long career of Rosanne Cash. Opening Dec. 5 and running through March of 2026, Rosanne Cash: Time Is a Mirror is included with museum admission.

No one calls Bruce Springsteen — hate to use your name in front of you — but no one calls Bruce Springsteen a freaking rock musician, which you are one, but you’re also an indie musician, you’re also a country musician. Chronicle: Cumulus KBCY/Abilene, TX morning co-host Dwayne "Doc" Alexander passed away yesterday (10/15). He was 61. Alexander was born in the Texas panhandle and grew up in Abilene. He started at crosstown KEAN in 1984 and was later paired with Jay Kelly in mornings. The duo moved to KBCY in 1999 and marked their 25th anniversary with the station last month. No word on services. |
