Professor Nancy Uffner (theatre & drama) has been honored with the Distinguished Achievement in Education Award from USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Inc.).
Nancy will accept the award in person and present a special session at the USITT24 Conference & Stage Expo in Seattle this month.

On March 5, scholars across U-M were brought together for a symposium on "Exploring the Potential of Artificial Intelligence for the Arts," organized by the Michigan Institute for Data Science. Panelists from SMTD included Professor Charles Garrett (musicology), lecturer and composer Garrett Schumann, and PhD student Molly Jones (performing arts technology).
