Teen Service Scholarship Recipients |
Six Lake Travis High School seniors will attend college in the fall with the help of scholarships from the Friends of the Library. Each recipient has volunteered at the library for a minimum of 75 hours, reaching a total of 1,000 volunteer hours combined.
This talented group includes Tehya Amow, who will attend Texas A&M and major in biochemistry; Andrew Glaeser, who plans to study neuroscience at Case Western Reserve University with the goal of becoming a doctor; Daniel Gluckman, who will attend UT and study biomedical research; Makaila Hand, who will attend UT San Antonio and study public health with the goal of becoming a pediatrician; Jackie Vasquez, who plans to major in production design and arts and entertainment technologies at UT; and Jack Weber, who will attend Purdue University and study engineering.
"The future is full of promise for these six outstanding students," said Teen Volunteer Coordinator Michelle Woicyk. "We greatly appreciate their contributions to the library and are proud to be able to support them as they continue their education."
Since 2007, the Friends of the Library have awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships to teen volunteers. Congratulations and well wishes to these exceptional students!
