Preparing for Fall 2026 Priority Registration |
Priority registration begins on April 13, and Deans, Chairs, and Faculty can now review the course schedule in Experience, and students can view any holds (especially those that prevent registration) on their student profile.
Below is what you need to know and how you can help support students.
|
|
|
Faculty: Review the Course Schedule |
|
|
| - Log in to Experience
- Select the Registration Self-Service card
If you do not see this card, select View All Cards in the top-right, then bookmark it by selecting the bookmark icon. - Select Browse Classes
- Select the appropriate Term
|
To view specific courses:
|
-
Search by subject or prefix
- Then refine by course number to review sections in detail
|
If you would like to see any changes, please contact your Chair, Associate and Assistant Dean, or Course Scheduler.
|
|
|
How Students Are Being Prepared |
To guide students through the new registration process, we are using multiple channels, including email, text, UM Today, FIN (chatbot), The Powder Blue, and Hotty Toddy TV (HTTV).
If a student is not familiar with Experience, direct them to:
|
This page serves as the central hub for student training materials, FAQs, and support resources.
|
Key Actions for Students: Checking for Holds |
- Access the Student Self-Service* card
- Select Student Profile
- Select the Fall 2026 semester in the Term dropdown (top left)
- View Registration Notices (top right)
|
From there, they can identify any holds.
|
If a student has a hold, they should address it as soon as possible by contacting the office that placed it. Example: Accounts Receivable Hold → Office of the Bursar
*Note: Students can also check for holds by going to the Registration Self-Service card and selecting Prepare for Registration. This view has less detail.
💡 Tip! Faculty and Advisors can also view holds on a student's profile by following this process, except that you will use the Advisee Search function. You can also get there through the Faculty Self-Service card.

Help Promote Summer Registration
Students planning to take summer classes should continue to register in myOleMiss. Early registration supports a smoother transition to fall registration in Experience.
- A Self-Service Process
Students will now register themselves for all courses. Advisors and departments will no longer enroll students on their behalf (including for waitlists or overrides). - Course Numbers Are Changing
Courses now follow a new numbering format. This Course Crosswalk will help students and advisors map previous course numbers to the new structure. - Registration PINs
Students will need a six-digit PIN (access code) from their academic advisor or department before they can register. Encourage students to watch for this and save it once received. - Plan Ahead (Available After April 6)
Students will be able to build up to three (3) schedule plans in advance using Plan Ahead (a process similar to favorites). - Waitlisting
Waitlists now function as a queue for open seats. Joining a waitlist does not guarantee a student a spot in the course. If a seat becomes available, the student will be notified and must act within a limited time, or the seat will be offered to the next student. - Overrides
Dean’s Offices and departments will manage overrides. Once granted, students must still register for the course. -
An Update on Conditional Booking
Conditional booking was a feature in myOleMiss. In Banner, a similar process will be managed centrally by the Registrar’s Office. Students who do not meet course prerequisites may still be removed from courses prior to the start of the term.
