Dear Alumni and Friends,
The fall semester has begun, and already this academic year brings exciting news for our students. During the first week of classes, I announced the formation of the Division of Student Belonging and Success to align existing programs and services under one structure in a manner that will best support our students in building connections and a sense of community on campus.
We know that students who engage in campus organizations and build strong relationships with their peers achieve higher rates of academic success and gain the interpersonal skills they will need in the workplace. By bringing these services and departments together, we establish belonging as a core part of the student experience.
Dr. Tachelle Banks, who most recently served as Presidential Faculty Fellow, is leading this division as the inaugural Vice President of Student Belonging and Success. I am thankful for her vision and passion as we develop this new division for our students.
Regards,
|
Laura Bloomberg
President
