  PRIDE MONTH!  
Pride Month starts tomorrow! UNT is a university for all, and we strive to create a safe place, inclusive of all genders and sexual identities. If you’re in the Denton area this summer, join the local community for events designed to uplift the LGBTQ+ community and educate allies during the PRIDENTON event, from Saturday, June 3, to Saturday, June 24.

  SUMMERTIME FUN  
If you’re in Denton this summer, you have the perfect opportunity to explore our vibrant community. Downtown Denton around the Square is a great place to find cool restaurants, festivals and a variety of mom-and-pop shops. If you find yourself looking for something to do, stop by the video game lounge, Free Play Arcade, or visit the Denton Community Market, open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 317 W. Mulberry Street. Visit Discover Denton to learn about events happening around the area — and have fun!

  NEW POLICE CHIEF  
Meet Chief Ramona Washington, who becomes the UNT Police Department’s first ever female police chief tomorrow, June 1. She is dedicated to enhancing officers' relationships with the community on and around the campus, and she hopes her story inspires women to pursue leadership positions in law enforcement.

  ART THERAPY  
Looking to explore a new creative passion this summer or need a space to express yourself creatively? UNT Student Counseling will host Open Art Therapy from 2 to 3:30 p.m. every Tuesday between June 6 and Aug. 1. This is a safe place to explore and express feelings, manage stress and anxiety and explore new art materials.

  DINING SERVICES AWARDS  
UNT's award-winning Dining Services continues to excel, bringing home not one, but two golds and a silver in the latest Association of College and University Food Services awards. We are so proud of their efforts in to keep UNT food options fresh and healthy. Read more about Dining Service's impact and achievements.

  JAZZY JONSSON!  
Tomás Jonsson, UNT jazz piano graduate student, won the Jacksonville Jazz Festival Piano Competition on Thursday, May 25. Jonsson won the hearts of a panel of judges and got the oppurtunity to perform among recognized artist like Charlie Wilson, Samara Joy, Linda Cole and Joshua Bowlus on the Swingin’ Stage at this year’s festival. Congratulations, Tomás!

  MEAN GREEN BOOMER!  
In a recent issue we asked, "What does it mean when Boomer, the UNT canon, is fired during a game?" The correct answer is, the canon is fired to signal kick-off, Mean Green scores, half-time and the end of football games. Boomer is also used to signify other important events like, University Day.
Thank you to everyone who participated and be ready for the next trivia contest in June.

  3 WEEK 1 SUMMER SESSION  
Tomorrow marks the last regular class meeting for the 3 Week 1 Summer Session, and final exams are Friday, June 2, the last official day of the session. 
Study hard and good luck on your tests! 
  A TRIP TO THE UNION   
Looking for something to do? There are many beautiful places on campus for students to explore and relax this summer. Take a trip to the University Union to meet up with friends, grab a drink from Starbucks, enjoy the sun on the rooftop or play a tune on the second-floor piano.
