Key and lock control; roof access policy updates
|
A “Lock Out” section was added to the “Key and Lock Control Procedure,” previously “Key Control Procedure. It explains a new process for persons with authorized access who lock themselves out of an area. If Key Control has to unlock a door, a lock out fee and associated expenses will be charged to the person, college, school, or department. In addition, information for lost, stolen, or missing keys was updated. Any lost, missing, or unreturned keys will now be assessed a lost key fee based on the Key Control Fee Schedule. Minor grammatical corrections were also made. (CO-PD-PR-10 Key and Lock Control Procedure)
As part of a routine review, procedures were updated for roof access for authorized personnel and routing maintenance. (CO-CS-PR-16 Building Roof Access Procedure )

Electronic waste recycling update
|
The Office of Sustainability offers e-waste collection at various points across campus for different types of electronic equipment, such as printer cartridges, computer parts, and phones. Use the e-waste recycling bins map to find a drop-off location near you. Look for the designated bin for your item. There are two important reminders:
|
- UTA-tagged e-waste assets purchased with University funds must be sent to Surplus Property to be reused on campus, donated or sold in public auction.
-
Batteries should be collected separately from all other waste, to be collected by EH&S. Do not place batteries with the rest of e-waste for collection. You may collect your department’s batteries in a cardboard box and when empty submit a pickup request to Environmental Health and Services (EHS).
