This week's newsletter includes information to help you navigate all of the academic support available to you as a student at USF. As always, if you have any questions, you can contact our office by chat, phone, or email. If you have specific immigration questions, you can also make an appointment with your ISSS adviser online.

Gleeson Library | Geschke Center is your home for research, discovery, and collaboration! The library's supportive staff are there to assist you in your academic research, studying, and more. Students can chat with a librarian in real-time 24/7, reserve group study rooms, and locate books and journals of interest. Gleeson Library is your one-stop shop for research and study needs. The library also has a department liaison program, which pairs a librarian subject specialist with each academic program to support students, faculty teaching, and research. The Learning, Writing, and Speaking Centers (LWSC) offer free subject-specific tutoring, writing assistance, and communication-related support. The Learning Center also provides opportunities for academic skill development through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and online resources. LWSC staff can be reached Monday–Friday between 8 a.m.–5 p.m. via email or through the chatbox on their website.
If you’re looking for extra support in English and student success strategies, our Academic English Support program offers coaching in cultural adjustment, effective communication, collaborative learning, active studying, and time management. To schedule an appointment, follow the “How to Schedule an Academic Skills Coaching Appointment” instructions and select "Academic English Support" at step 6.

The Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA) is your home for compassionate academic and personal support. At CASA, undergraduate students can get help to achieve their academic goals, seek guidance on completing forms, and get connected to campus resources. Their office is on the University Center's third floor, and they are open Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. CASA can be reached via phone or by email. Undergraduate students are encouraged to make an online or in-person appointment with their CASA coach through the Student Hub or visit any coach during their drop-in hours. Graduate students seeking academic support should contact their faculty academic adviser or graduate program directly.

Student Disability Services (SDS) recognizes disability as a valued aspect of diversity and works to facilitate equal access and an inclusive environment for students with disabilities. Eligibility for these services is determined on an individual basis for each student and early planning is essential for many of the resources and accommodations. Register now! Alumni Mentor Program (AMP) applications for sophomore to graduate-level students have launched. AMP is a seven-month formal mentorship program. Each USF student accepted into the program will be matched with one dedicated mentor. As a mentee, students can gain support with professional development and valuable insight from USF alumni.

If you are requesting an immigration document or letter from our office, remember that we request ten business days to process requests. Make sure you plan accordingly so you have enough time to receive your document before you need it. All ISSS requests should be submitted through the MyISSS student portal (log in to your MyISSS account, go to Requests & Documents, and select the appropriate icon on the right side of the page). You can view our MyISSS Student Handbook for assistance with your submission.
